Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are semi permanent eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are individually applied one by one to each natural lash and come in different lengths and thicknesses. They will make lashes longer and fuller and enhance the eyes.
Q: How long do they take to apply?
A full set will take 2 hours and a half, maintenance sets around an hour.
Q: How long will my eyelash extensions last?
Eyelash extensions will last indefinitely when looked after properly and with regular maintenance. The natural lash cycle is 45-90 days and the eyelash extension will fall out with the natural lash that it is applied to. I recommend infills every three to four weeks to keep lashes looking full.
Q: Will it hurt?
No. The treatment is very relaxing, you will have your eyes closed throughout - many of my clients fall asleep!
Q: Is the eyelash glue safe?
I use only the highest quality glue which has been extensively researched and tested. Although reactions are extremely rare, I do recommend a patch test to test for any sensitivity to the glue, this will take approximately five minutes and will need to be done at least 24 hours before your appointment.
Q: Will I be able to shower and swim?
It is important not to get the eyelashes wet for the first 24 hours until the adhesive has set, after this time your eyelash extensions are waterproof, however it is advisable to wear goggles when swimming. Please see aftercare section for more information on how to look after your lashes.
Q: Can I wear mascara?
One of the many benefits of having eyelash extensions is that you will not need mascara as the eyelash extensions will enhance your eyes and give the illusion of wearing mascara. However, if you do choose to wear mascara it is important that you do not use a waterproof mascara as these require oil based removers which can affect the bonding of your eyelash extensions and cause them to fall out prematurely. Water based mascara can be applied to the tips of the lashes for extra definition.
Q: What should I do before my appointment?
Please remove all eye make up including mascara. If you wear contact lenses please bring a case and solution to place your lenses in during the procedure. You will be able to put them back in as soon as your treatment is done.
